    Timbuktu
new looking for tub setup conformation
Ok I had a 30 gallon tank all set up and ready to go. then I read here how tubs are way better and easier. so now I am going to setup a tub instead and want to make sure I am understanding how to do it.

I have read that for a tub all I will need heat wise is a under tank heat source? and that will be sufficent to keep that warm side warm and the cool side cool? I also will not need to put a light on the tub just the room light will be sufficent? I just want to make sure I am doing this right as far as the tub goes. I know I need a thermostat, thermometer, hides, waterbowl etc. i just want to make sure the heating is right. any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

yeah a heat source would go under it for the warm side. You do need a thermostat. ReptileBasics.com is a great place to start :)
