well as the title says i just got my first bp last week and i haven't had any trouble feeding it.

im not to sure if it is male or female but i like it none the less.

as i am reading here i think i need a new place for it to live, but when i bought it i got it from a breader who sold me the glass incloser and said it would be alright.

    so here is a pic

welcome ......... if you like the glass tank stick with it some people say that they have troubles keeping glass at the right temps and humidity but ive had no troubles and i have a 70 gal long (ok my warm side temps are 6-8 degreesoff but only cuz i just broke the heat bulb and need to hit the store to replace with the right size)

altho you will want to invest in the right size glass tank tho you want longer not taller

    btw nice lookin bp

A breeder sold you that glass tank? That's made for arboreal reptiles... BPs need ground area, not climbing space. This makes me wonder what else this "breeder" told you...

Depending on your BP's size, go grab a 10 gallon glass tank if you want a display tank, or a tub if you don't care.

uh yeah, get the snake out of that enclosure for sure!! it looks similar to the exoterra but i dont see the double doors in the front.. i use that size exoterra for my frogs! a 10gal is cheap enough to pick up i would certainly do that, the "breeder" you worked with wanted to make some money and IMO thats all, those exo's are very pricey and worthless to a BP. congrats on the new pet, i hope you can find a different supplier FAST! great set up for a small tree dweller though! Is the lamp way up there for heat? I was told mine would melt the screen on top if you use *any* kind of heat lamp on it. plus its unlikely it will give you adequit (sp?) heat all the way at the bottom for your snake without it basking (which they typically dont do) on the top of that stick.. that dial isnt recommended either, they just arent accurate enough. i would read through the caresheets here and go by that. there is alot of great info here

agreed that tank is not made for ball pythons or any snake for that matter. take it from me, it is hard enough to heat a normal glass tank correctly then trying to mess with some thing like that with all the over head. if you want some thing glass get a 20 tank made for reptiles although a lot of people here will tell you to get a pastic enclosure just because it is easier to maintain. Its really up to you but definitely move him. And lets not forget, Welcome :D

i think my girlfriend has a 20 gallon at her parents house, so i guess this weekend im going to go pick that up.

i paid $70 tax in for that, and yes it is a heat light on the top that he sold me also.

i have read the caresheet on here, just seems i need to change the tank and get another hide for it

    thanks for the help
