    very aggressive beardie??
Well I had a tanimbar skink and traded it for a beardie. The first day or soo it was ok but since then it is just as bad if not worse than the skink. I get near the tank and it starts to bite at the glass. I have never seen or heard of an aggressive beardie before. Its still a baby. I have had it for about 2 weeks now and it seems to get wirse everyday.

High temps and strong lighting give beardies alot of energy. Make sure you have a good hide for him. Scratching at the glass like trying to get out is normal from time to time and is not aggression. Are you feeding it enough? Babies are always hungry.

I do not think hides are good for beardies, some will spend all of their time in it and not get their uvb or heat. Can you list your whole set up?

    how big the tank is
temps, and what you measure with
Brand of uvb and the kind of bulb
    Substrate
how much you feed and what you dust it with,

    Thanks, Matt

well my tank is home made i guess about 65 gal. hot side at 92 cool side at around 78-80ish. hum is around 35 like my room. i have one hide that is used as a basking rock. one reptisun 10.0 flourecent tube. and a 75 watt night time bulb. one large water dish but i have noticed it doesnt use it. It only drinks drops off water off the fake plants in the tank. so i have to mist the plants 2 or 3 times a day. as for food i feed a variety of mealworms, waxworms, phoenix worms, and silk worms. She loves the silk worms. as for dusting I dust every other day with t-rex brand calcium supplement. And she is not scratching at the glass she is actually striking at it like a snake would. when i get my camera back i will try to put a vid on here of it. its freaking scary im more scared of her biting that my ball, or blood pythons.

I also second the hide, maybe not exactly a "hide" but a place where she will feel secure and can "get away". Some beardies are aggresive, my suggestion would be to try and get her in your hands. They often calm after a while of being held, but not always. How big is she? if shes just a baby, i wouldnt be to afraid of the bite.

make sure that you have a cool side that is a lot cooler than the hot side. mine have a side that is about 115 and a side that is about 70. they thermo regulate all the time. if yours cant cool down that is why it is going off. i used to have a beardie that would chase me. LOL but then i realized that he was way to hot. so i got the temps right and he is dog tame. i also got him a girl frind that calmed him down a lot too. it kind of gave him a hobby if you know what i mean. LOL

I have a baby beardie also. I would raise the hot side temps they need between 100-105 or so. Mealworms are not good at all for babies and can cause a lot of problems. My beardie used to be a brat like that to but it's because it is freaking out over a huge thing reaching in the cage. Find a way u feel comfortable and get it out into ur hands and hold it a little bit each day. The biggest help to me was the advice when u stick ur hand in the cage and it opens its mouth like its going to bite stick a peice of greens or a worm in its mouth. It will completely shock the beardie and u can pick it up without the open mouth coming at u. Also how old is the beardie? I know around 6-7 months my little guy turned into a black beardie open mouth brat but that's cuz he hit what's considered beardie puberty lol. Also u could put the baby into a sink of shallow water (up to mid back) and let it drink up more water as often as u want. I still do this 3x a week and boy does he drink.

Wow, I must be lucky.. Beardie is 6 yrs old, had him since he was 4 months old. Never had any issues with him. No aggression or anything. I say try to handle your baby as much as possible. And when babies they do tend to eat more often. Good luck!

I second that you raise the temps to around 105. He cannot digest in the 90s

I never used a hide for any of my beardies and they all came out fine.
