Just wanting to brag! - Pictures
For years and years I've bred rats with no problems at all, but never ever been able to get mice to do ANYTHING!

But in the past 6 months, I have finally figured it out, and I'm overrun with mice!!!

I use a 20g long with 1.7-9 mice at a time, and it just seems to work wonders! I keep all my feeders in a separate room that stays dark all the time, and I only come in once a day to check on everyone, feed, and water. If I need to add a strange mouse to the group, for whatever reason, I put them all in a small critter keeper while changing the cage, so that they're running all over each other crazily, without noticing the strange one, and by the time they all end up in the clean cage, they all smell the same. At least that's my theory! I've been just holding back females once in a while when needed, and soon I'll be starting a second colony, using Frankykeno's bins, (which are working awesome for my rats!), though with smaller wire to accommodate little mice.

    And without further blabbering:

    And just for fun:

Stubby rat (She's missing part of her tail, dunno why.) with her new litter:

Rat pups are just the cutest:

Daddy rat in his bachelor pad, he'll be getting a friend soon:

What a gorgeous, healthy looking group of mice! Good job there. I never had a bit of luck breeding mice but regular rats and african soft furred's do very well for me.

Glad those bins are working out well for you. I've had mine going for awhile now and really love the design. I've got to get busy and make more of them so I can eventually switch the whole rat colony over to them (other than the 10 gallon tanks I currently use for maternity housing).

Yup! They're overrunning me! And I definetely have some cute color combinations come out.

In the third picture you can see one of my favorites that was held back from the last batch of litters, the cream spotted with red eyes. Very cute!

I have mice for my Argentine Red Tegu, he's too small to eat rats just yet, but he's hibernating, so my freezer is filling up! I hope he wakes up soon, or I'll need to buy a whole new freezer I tell ya.

    Glad you enjoyed.

The only thing I want to comment is that cage you currently have the male in will be MUCH to small for 2 males. You'd be better off putting them in a tall sterilite tub and putting hardware cloth on the lid or on the sides like FrankyKeno's.

We currently keep our breeders like that and the boys bachelor pad is a large sterilite tub. Cheap and easy to make, and easy to clean! :)
Plus, they wont break their legs or tail on that wheel, those are the worst kind because of the injuries that can happen on them. ;)

Congratualtions on the Lovely mice though, I know I would be proud finally getting them to breed! :D

Thats a lot of babies. I breed mice as well and its taken me months to get them to do anything. But one of my females dropped 12 babies last week and she is starting to gain weight again. :D All my snakes eat mice except for my corn who eats rats (rat pup/weanling)
