    Kingsnake Shedding question
    Hi,

I have a 5 month old grey banded kingsnake, and he hasn't shed since Sep. 9, 2007. I've been patiently waiting for him to shed again, but I am starting to worry. Should he have shed by now? I know that younger snakes shed more often, but am not sure about the specifics of GB Kingsnakes.

I think he might shed soon, because he refused his meal, the first time he's ever done so, but that could be something else entirely.

    Thanks so much

How often does he eat? What does he eat? What temps are his cage? Can you post a pic?

My Albino Cali only shed for the first time last week since about October but she is two years old. I just put it down to maybe slowing down a bit with the change in season but she was still as active and taking her prey items as normal. Both my Kings were shedding every three to four weeks at five months old but have slowed down to around every six to seven weeks.

If your snakes still continuing to act as normal and is eating reguarly i wouldn't worry too much about it. Just keep an eye for him going into blue, i'm sure a shed is just around the corner,

    Good luck

OK. Thanks. The temp is at about 85. I know it's not the humidity, because my other snake was able to shed. Hmmmm...
