I had to go digging for him in order to get a shot of him as well. * and re arrange the tank a bit more to my liking* lil guy had a burrow all made out and stuff beyond the rock caves i had set up for him, totally cute... in an arachnidy sort of way ^_-

I hide now k?
I love this guy, hes really fun to watch when he decides to come out at night. Though, when i turn the daylamp on Ill usually catch him chilling under that lamp too. Just cant move too fast in front of the tank, or off he scurries ;)

Re: Emperor Scorpion
I know lots of girls that keep arachnids, I'm one of them!!
Looks like a nice set up, I like the little caves! They do not require any lights though. Heat pads are usually suggested if you need additional heat for your scorpion.

I use a heat pad ( you can see it on the right side of the tank in the picture with the red lamp) They dont require day lamps, but the red ones are suggested and widely used they also keep the correct temperatures for my setup this way.

I had a set up once like that, and the scorpion hated it, wouldnt move ever, took everything out, added a half log, and now he is happier than can be lol!
it looks awesome though, very natural!

Thanks man, He seems to enjoy it, i catch him out at all times of the day, anytime there is a change to the environment too misting, adding water, changing/cleaning his dish, hes there exploring. Theyre cool critters, i never really thought id like a bug as a pet, but ive always wanted a T or a Scorp just to see how they were. I have to say, im enjoying it :) Its fun decorating their homes too.. silly humans!

Well if you're going to use both then make sure that it doesn't get above 90 in the tank.. temps of 100+ are only needed for breeding and it is not suggested that the temp is always that high

Re: Emperor Scorpion
I had one a long time ago. I thought it was really cool how if I put in a dozen crickets, it would kill all of them, even if it only ate 6 or 7.

They really don't need to eat that much. Like 3-4 crickets a week is fine because they have super slow metabolisms.
