rack and flexwatt fully set up... I think
I have my rack set up with flexwatt and a herpstat ND, i have noticed that the piece of flexwatt below the first piece in parallel has a 3-4 degree higher temp... could this have anything to do with length cut? i cut 1 a little shorter because it got screwed up with my connections. so im here to say my herpstat is at 91.5 low-91.8 high, its set at low1 for pmmode.
    im checking humidity right now.

When you are using one thermostat with a parallel heat tape pattern, you want all the heat tape to be cut equal length. Depending on what you calibrate your thermostat to, the thermostat is going to want to put equal amounts of wattage out to each strip of tape. So, that shorter strip is gettin that same amount of wattage your other strips are gettin, but since it is shorter, more wattage=more heat...does any of this make sense.

I guess all you can do is cut the rest of the heat tapes the same length, or just keep an eye on that level and know that it is going to be a few degrees higher...hopes this help...

Just keep in mind as long as all of your tubs are in the range of 80-85 (cool side) and 90-95 (warm side), I wouldn't see why you'd need to cut them all. Do you have temp. readings for each tub?

You need to cut them to keep them all one length so that all of the temps will be generally the same.

If you have the thermostat probe in one spot, but the other tubs have more or less flexwatt, the temp readings that you are getting for that one spot will be false for the overall rack.

Oh ok I see. Well not if the longer cut felxwatts are giving the proper temp graidents, cutting them shorter will throw them off, give them more power, make them hotter, right? So maybe he'll just want to replace the one that is cut short instead of cutting all of them short.
