    Diego - Tarahumara Boa
Diego is one of two dwarf sonoran boas we have. He is a Tarahumara locality boa and is less than 4' long going into his 6th year.

We also have a sonoran boa who is roughly the same size and has similar coloration and markings.

Diego will hiss and puff on occasion, but his bark is definitely worse than his bite. He and I have an evening ritual (in warmer weather), he sits on my shoulder while I scoop dog crap off our back lawn.

..and one of his belly - my crappy photo skills don't do it justice:

He is a cute snake :) I am pretty surprised by the small size; that is a locality thing, right? Awesome.. boas are great outdoor-weather-yard-explorers (just not here now.. too much snow, heh.)

Yes - Tarahumaras are reported to be the smallest BCI.

Cute little guy...the dwarfs are great...

Really nice eye shot in that second pic...always cool to see the eye 'tilt'

They are masters at intimidation, two of my Sonorans huff and puff as well, but are fine when picked up...
