    Just a few pics...
Someone had asked me for photos of my yellow ackies so I figured I would just make a post out of it.

Here are the two larger ackies:

Here are the two smaller ackies:

And while I was at it I figure I would share a few storri photos I had took a while back...

Nice Pics Daniel, I've often thought of adding some Ackies to my collection, those look nice and fat. What kind of caging do you have them in?

    Jake,

Get you some ackies...you would love them. I don't think I could handle the size of tegus ;)

    Adam,

Thanks pal. The tristis keep me very entertained.

    Mark,

I have all sorts of caging and I am always building new stuff or moving stuff around.

Right now, The smaller ackies are in 30-something gallon Rubbermaid Roughneck tubs with a modified top. Kinda like a trough-type setup but alot smaller. They will probably stay there until they get a bit bigger. The larger ackies are in an sliding glass front enclosure w/ about 3" of soil and a nest box. Nothing too complicated.

I like to mess around with my enclosures to see what works best for me and the animals.

I am working on finishing up a shed in my backyard that will house all my reptiles, so once I get in there all the housing will probably change. I have some much nicer and bigger enclosures planned and will probably work on one or two this weekend :) I will have to snap a few pictures if I finish anything.

Those are very nice looking lizards. How large do Ackies get, are they typically friendly? I saw they don't seem to require a ton of space so I'm guessing they stay under a foot?

The yellow ackies usually get anywhere between 24"-26" total length (a little larger than a big beardie). The Blackheaded Monitors are going get a little longer due to their tail length, and my Storr's are all under 12" TL.

There are only a couple monitor species in the US that stay under 18" total length and they are very hard to come by these days.

A 4'Lx2'Wx2'H enclosure would keep a pair of ackies just fine. The bigger the better though but still much less than most other monitors.
