    back up thermostat
    who uses one?

Im thinking about getting my 6 slot rack in the next couple months and im trying to decide what i want vs what i need. I know we need to get a *good* thermostat and im thinking about getting the ranco since it shuts off when temps get too high but ive also read people having a thermostat (such as a johnson (?)
and then having a back up ranco attached to it..

how nessesary is that and who has it currently?

I would think it's worth it if you are away alot and have a large collection. I believe most thermostats will shut off if temps get too high. The back up is a good idea if you can't always be around to check up on them I guess. I would be interested in knowing how the folks here who are breeding or have huge collections feel about it.

we will have six max, right now we only have two (adding a third for sure in april, possibly sooner) we rarely go away, maybe once every six months at the most, with a large collection of reptiles (beardeds, cresteds, mice, rats, exc) its difficult to go away :gj:
