Quick question:

Hey, I ordered a new cage from RBI for my female RTB.. I had read that some people use indented kraft paper, is that correct?

I also ordered a rack for my BPs, which I'll be using aspen in.. but for the RTB cage I feel it would be easier to just lay down a sheet of something, instead of a bunch of loose aspen shavings.
And I feel like the newspaper I've been using isn't a clean as something like kraft paper, and I hate all the print on it.

Also, if anyone uses this kraft paper how do you get the humidity up in the cage?

I got it with an Ultratherm heat pad, a Helix thermostat, and a temp gun.. I have a big soak dish for the cage too.. Anything I'm missing? Shes been doing well in the screen top terrarium, but the RBI cage seems better, and it looks good.

I'm donating her old cage to the Phoenix Herp Society for rescues after I get my RTB moved out and the cage cleaned :)

Some people use indented kraft paper, yes.. for a long time I used sheets of unprinted newspaper (very similar) from here: http://www.foodservicedirect.com/ind...per_Sheets.htm

I've since switched to aspen since I find it easier to keep the cages clean.. just pick out the dirty spots, and completely clean the cage every month or so.

To keep the humidity up, you can implement a large water dish, put in a humid hide, or mist the cage down regularly. Some people use room humidifiers with success as well.

Right now I have her screen top taped off with foil.. a large water dish, and I mist it twice a day to keep humidity up since shes on newspaper. Sounds like I'll just have to do the same thing with the RBI cage

I live in very dry Central Oregon and have a few RBI cages. I use indented kraft paper from u-line and put a container of moss in each cage which does the trick. I also needed to cover most of the vent holes in the back; plenty of air flow around the doors. When it gets really dry, I put in some wet paper towels on top of the hides and it does the trick!
