I love apple. All of their products work seamlessly and for the average person they do everything that they need. I have to use windows for my engineering programs but apple even has me covered there. I just got the newest version of parallels and it has worked flawlessly even with my flight simulators. My macbook pro is almost two years old and I have never once had it freeze or do anything but work perfectly. Apple does cost a little more than some of the other windows based machines but I think you pay for what you get. And if you pay out for the mac nobody will be disappointed.

It looks cute! I love how computer related electronics are getting thinner and thinner and more streamlined. Did any of you see the virtual newspaper/book pad that can hold hundreds of books, or download newspapers, with a touch-screen? The future is now! Whee!

However, I prefer to use a computer with an open source system so I can edited it, upgrade it, and reprogram what I like, when I like, with competitively priced components from a wide variety of manufacturers world-wide. You can't get all that from a Mac. Their closed-source component system alone is akin to a mafia organization, with zero competition available by High Decree. To upgrade a component you have to buy Mac brand, at Mac prices, and deal with Mac - and if you have a problem, too bad, because you can't even go to a competitor. I don't like that at all. :(

I used to be a Mac person myself, but no longer. I did experience a slew of problems with Mac products, and between trying to find a store that would deal with them, and getting the run-around by Mac themselves, I've long since bid them good-bye.

On a side note, the PC I built myself has been running nearly 24/7 for about 3 years without a single issue. Go me! ;)

This said, I think that if you are a general computer user a Mac is just fine. Doing homework, surfing the net, watching movies and listening to music... peachy keen! Just don't try to play any games. :D

well then you are talking to the wrong mac people. at the mac station i deal with and have been dealing with for many years now, they always give me the option of buying a non-mac product... but perhaps the products you want aren't ones anyone else makes???

i've never had an un-kind work to say about my mac or the assistance i've received from my mac-gods. they go above and beyond for me time and time again.

    i LOOOOOOOOOOVE my mac!

They have software that you can install that will read CD/DVD drives on another computer...that's pretty cool...but not everyone has another computer. It has it's pros and cons but hey...It's still neat IMO
