Moving With Animals

I have a 4ft iguana, a crested gecko, a milksnake, cat, anaconda and moving to another state. I know the crested and milksnake im just going to put in delicups kinda things and then secure them so they can't move around during the drive. The cat is going in a cat carrier of course. My question is any tips on how to move safly with a 4ft iguana. I am driving wtih my kids and mom pulling a tralior with everything. The animals are going in the car with us of course. The ananconda I was going to place in a pillowcase kind of thing then in a box with heat packs and newspaper crumpled up. I just dont know what to do to mke the trip easy on the iguana.

I've never had to move with an iguana, but I would think that a carrier would work pretty well for the iguana too. Not too sure about the heat requirements, but you can get a converter and hook up a heat lamp if you need it.

Ditto what Christie said.. If I'm correct, if a Iggy cools down for a time, *not freezing or anything, but like a car ride* and warms back up, it's ok. Not like our legless friends... I think that's true with iggys!?!?

I used to take my Iguana to the vet in a big cat/dog crate.
Heating, that is a different thing... maybe some more of them heat packs!

I know the snake is going to be kept warm the whole time with teh heat packs and such. When I bought the iguana they sent her home in a huge long box with bedding. I was thinking the same concept so that I could lay the box on the floor on the back seat. Going to be a 4 door car so space is limited lol. I figured the cat in the carrier between my kids car seats. Then the milksnake and the crested on the floor by my feet in deli cup inside a box sort of thing. The anaconda of course in a different box with heat packs and such. I could eaisly get a clamp light over the box with a converter.....never thought of that to keep the iguana comfy. I still have a month till I move but want to make this as easy as possible on all involved. My mom is already freaking out about traveling with an anaconda and 4 ft iguana lol.

I would be most concerned about the Crestie. They respond very badly to severe environmental changes.

I've not had any trouble travelling with Cresties. Usually as long as I'm comfy, so are they. But I like to keep a digital thermometer in with them so I can make sure their temps stay in the right range.

I am moving from NV to AZ so not really any temp changes in traveling except for when we are going through something like Kingman or Wickenburg but thats why the heat is going to be on also. I figured the same tigerlily as long as im comfy he should be fine.I am going to have a temp gauge with every animal and be checking it often to.

dog/cat carrier with a few warm water bottles (the kind you get for when you're sick)?

I am getting ready for a move this weekend but I don't have an iguana to move. I have heard that the heat from the car can kill snakes. All the moving parts up under the car can heat the floor, then the floor can heat up the snakes. Just something to think about and keep an eye on.
