    Bath???
OK this might seem silly, but is it ok to soak your BP every once in a while just to get him "clean"? I know they don't soak unless they have mites or are in a bad shed, but.....

My daughter and I were cleaning out his enclosure this weekend, the "big" clean, and my daughter asked that since his cage gets dirty won't he and can we give him a little bath?????

    Thanks -

No problem at all. Just make sure that the water isn't too warm... it should be lukewarm, almost cool to the touch.

A couple minute soak is good enough for cleaning. If you're soaking to remove a stuck shed, make sure that the water isn't too deep and that the snake has something to rest his head on out of the water.

So how often is ok? We have to soak our Tort 2-3 times a week but that is a much different situation. So, maybe once a week??? He does not stink or anything, but....

I've had to "bathe" my boa occasionally when she's been marinating in her own pee in her hide. Just like Lawrence said, a quick dip in tepid water (I check the water temperature with a temperature gun) to get off grungies. Other times, especially with the big burm, a damp towel works, just letting the snake slither through to clean off any ookies (Lourdes likes slithering through his own poop - eeeww!). =)
