    first day!! OH NO!!
It has been ten years since I've been to school, other than thru work. I'm probably going to be the oldest there. Working ten hrs a day, six days a week and classes three days a week. Don't be surprised if my posts started sounding like I may be losing my mind!! Never mind, I'm probably already there. If you don't hear from me after a while, I have been locked away somewhere safe!!
Wish me luck, I need it!!!:weirdface

Good luck! You'll do fine so long as you just hang in there! Karen got her degree while doubling up with work just last November and while it made us both crazy for a while it was worth it in the end. Eyes on the prize! :gj:

Congrats on going back to school!!! That takes a lot of guts, and since you have the guts to go back, I'm sure your going to do just fine ^_^

I don't know if you posted it else where, but what are you going for?

Thanks everyone. I actually enjoyed being back in class today.
I'm working toward my business degree then possibly go a little further in some type of manufacturing technologies. Not sure which road I'll take yet. I have 34 yrs. experience in welding , 4 as an instructor. Some drafting, but not much.

Everytime I struggle with education and the long term cost-benefit analysis I think of my prof-mentor's best piece of advice.

Ok... best two pieces of advice.

"agency and industry" ... critical to any pursuit. :)

    And

"in X number of years, you will X number of years older regardless, so you might as well be that many years closer to your goal."

Good luck with school. I have been the oldest student in most of my classes... first year and second year classes are the worst... but as you hit 3rd and 4th year you will find that the age gap will be less obvious.
