HUGE gator and stupid people

This has to be the largest gator i have ever seen and I am wondering why those people had to shoot it.:mad:

The first pics are of a gator with a deer it killed. Pics were taken from a copter I believe, and the gator was not harmed or captured, merely filmed.
The last picture is of a gator, not a extremely large one even. It's hung up in the foreground of the picture, with the man well behind it, giving it a illusion of a giant gator.

That first photo is definitely pretty cool though of the gator holding the deer underwater.
