    BP bellies ???
I have a question regarding the underside of BPs. Why is it that everyone always posts "belly shot"s? What, exactly, is everyone looking for? My girl's stomach (I don't have any pics yet) is remarkably clear all the way down except for a few spots towards the tail. Very clean and white.

Also, her belly is always pinkish. I thought at first it was that she was getting too hot. But the ambient temp in her tub is about 75-78 and the outside temp is even cooler. The hot side stays in the mid to high eighties and I check every time I look in on her to make sure nothing is getting too hot. The hot side is warm to the touch - not hot in any way, shape, or form. So I don't know what else it could be. I just know that it's always been that way for as long as I can remember.

Some morphs have a certain look to the belly, and that's why people like to see belly shots. Some folks prefer a good clean belly in the normals too.
If your ball python's belly is pink, it can mean it's nearing a shed, or if it's still very young, the belly sometimes is pinky colored anyway.

She just came out of a shed, and like I said - it's almost always pink. She's 8, almost 9 months old. Dunno if that's "young" like you mean.

I would check your humidity in your enclosure. If it is to moist that may be another reason its belly is pink. If it is not genetic to you, which more than likely its not, I would take it to the vet just to have it checked out. better safe than sorry.

My 4 month old's belly has also been pink since I've gotten him. All of my temps and humidity are exact, so it isn't that.

As long as it's just a very light pink, I would highly doubt anything is wrong.

my bp's was alittle tint of pink when I got him, but after his first shed, it's gone. His belly is white.
