Wierd little corn

I've got a female amel that I've got a bit of a problem with. She used to be somewhat of a biter, and I broke her of that habit, but now, I get musked almost every time I go to move her to feed her or clean her tank. How do I break her of this "sh***y" habit (teeheehee, I'm a comedian :P )? Is it possible? Or will she just grow out of this? I hope there's something I can do, this is getting a little irritating. Thanks :cool:

Is she still young? They tend to grow out of it with regular handling.

That is a natural defensive mechanism for most snakes. She will eventually no longer see you as a threat and stop musking when you pick her up. My desert king was real bad about it when I got him.... He now no longer see's me as a threat and does not musk.

Most likely she'll grow out of it. However, some never do. I have a caramel female who's several years old now and musks every time I pick her up; always has and probably always will. Continue to handle her on a regular basis, but you may have one of the ones that will always do it...

It depends on why she is musking.
How did you "break her" of biting?

To break her of biting, I'd just pick her up and handle her for a while, and if she bit, I'd let her bite the :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r: outta me, and she eventually stopped. I don't think she really sees me as a threat anymore. She doesn't seem stressed or really skittish or anything. And yes, she is still young. August 11th of '07.
