red night light

how many people use the red night lights on the cool side of the tank? i was considering geting one thanks also do you guys keep a uth heater on the cool side or the warm side if you have a spot lamp thanks

I have one for the warm side and one for the cool side. Temps on my range from 90-93 and 80-84 respectivly (controlled with clamp lamp dimmers). It does suck the humidity out so I use bed a beast as a substraite and mist a few times daily.

Since I have lamps, I don't use any UTHs. I figure if you can get temps with one you don't need the other. If you can get temps correct with the lights then you don't need the UTH or vis versa, but that's just me.

waht about having a lamp over a uth is this bad

Well a lamp over a UTH would probably make it WAAAY too hot!! Me personaly, In one cage I have a lamp on the warm side and a UTH on the cool side, and on another tank I have a lamp on both sides (with differnt watt bulbs). UTH can get very hot if not controlled by a thermostat, up to 100 degrees or more, so having a lamp on top of that it just.. Wow..

And to add on to that- I use the red lights 24/7, so you can either use it for night time, or all the time, as long as theres heat.

Will these temps work 94 on the warm side 81-83 on the cool side and 46% humidity

I use a red 60 watt lamp for the cool end, and 2 UTHs on the warmer end (to cover up the entire warm side).

My temps are 82 degrees (constant) ambient and 83ish in the hide on the cool side. The warm side is also 90-94 and provides belly heat since UTHs heat up the bottom of the tank.

The lamp sucks out the humidity tho, so I have an additional water bowl and mist a lot.

I use a ceramic heater that turns on and off by itself.
