not eating at all

ever since her last shed (was a great shed btw) she hasent even looked at a rat.. its been about a month or so and she has been very active shes always trying to get out and stuff and rarly in her dens, the temp is 90 on half and 84 on the other but the humidity is only about 45 i cant seem to keep it up in winter >.< any sugestions or ne thing?

For humidity, get few papertowels, wad them together and you can either soak or just mist every day to keep em wet. That will raise your humidity by another 15% or so.

Are you feeding live or F/T? If F/T then what I did once was after thawing the mouse, I hung it infront of his hide and turned off all the lights in the room. I think privacy and darkness encourages them. After about 25 minutes I returned to check on him and whoala the mouse was gone.

Also, you might wanna go down a size in the meal.

i agree with the advise. i had to do the same thing 2 weeks ago after about a month of not eating. i feed f/t and after wiggling it around for a long while i finally just set it in front of the hide.20 to 30 minutes later, it was gone.

but I've done that.. I've even left it all night n it was there so i threw it out.. ive wasted like 5 rats so far.. u think she might b sick??

sorry i didn't mention this earlier, but i went to a much smaller size mouse before it ate. i just give it 2 instead of 1. i hope it is enough, but at least it is finally eating again. hopfully it will work for you also.

She just may be off feed for the winter...only one of my balls is feeding right now....

I am sure someone can back me up here, but usually this time of the year Balls can tell its cooler outside even if they are in a rack with a controlled environment....the cooler temps kinda put them in a 'brumation' mode....haha is that a word? Can someone help me?

If she starts to look dangerously thin, THEN worry till then, this may become routine...I flipped out the first winter I had my balls and they all stopped feeding....I was all sorts of stressed :weirdface

..just so you dont freak as much, a few of my balls went 3+ months not feeding last year, and they all ended up being just fine....this was in Kansas too....


....I just recently moved up to Minnesota and so this is my first winter up here...and the winters up here last forever I heard so it will be interesting to see if they go longer without feeding....not saying I am okay with this haha :oops:

Really, we are going to need some more specific information. How old is she, weight, cage specifics...

She could just be off feed for the winter, or she could be sick. Have you weighed her recently to compare if she is losing weight? Ball Pythons can go long periods of time without losing much weight. By a long time, I mean some can go a year.

Give her an assessment, and you decide whether you should take her to the Vet's office or not. It's usually a good idea to take them in when any change in behavior occurs that is not a normal and expected. If you are unsure, take her in. Better safe than sorry.
