    Good places to get websites
I want suggestions from all of you that have your own website for your herps. Where could I get a good website that would allow me to put up pictures and information on my ever growing collection of snakes and eventually, when I start breeding, pages for what I have available.

And how could I find someone to help me get it designed, built, and up and running?

And just to give me an idea of what it costs, if you don't mind other's knowing. How much do you spend on having a website for your herps?

As far as domain and host, you can use Go Daddy

Domain for a year will cost you $9.99 and will also allow you to host your website for free (with advertisement on the top) and have your own email address.

Hosting will cost you from $3.99 a month and up depending on your needs.

Designed will depends on the web designer.

Freewebs.com is one i use. But you have a limit of 20 or so pages. I then upgraded for $9.95 a month and have unlimited amout of pages. I also used one of their layouts they gave. I then bought the domain name for like $19.95 for a year thru freewebs.

I don't mind advertisements, at least for the moment. When I really get the site up and running and I'm able to, I'd bump up the budget and get rid of the advertisements.

Since I won't be breeding for another 1-2 years, I mainly want the site for 'showing off' my snakes and other critters for now. :D

Powweb.com is a great company with stable servers and fantastic customer support.

They offer various service plans depending on your need. They also provide a free domain included with many of their packages.

Well if you don't mind advertisement and already have an idea for your domain I would definitely recommend you to use Go Daddy as I said 9.99 will get you a domain, personal email address and free hosting for a year, after that plans start at $3.99 here is the link http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/default.asp

And this will give you an idea of what the advertisement on the site will looks like http://stewartreptiles.com/ (Right now this is a work in progress this is why it is not hosted)

    Tripod.com

Its free to make everything, and then once you are ready you can pay for a domain and get the advertisements and pop ups gone.

Here's one i made on there. I havent paid anything( as you can see by the popups and adverts) but i think it looks great
