Nice story to start out the new year. :)
An Australian couple rescued a carpet python after they discovered it had accidentally eaten golf balls. They had placed the golf balls in their chicken coup to encourage the chickens to lay eggs.

It's nice to know that people still care for snakes even though they might pose a threat to their own animals. :)

Well at least they know now where all the Chicken eggs were going! lol
I wonder how they got them out? Do you think a pythons digestive acids could break down a golf ball. I'd say probaby, but it wouldn't be pretty for the balls or the snake.

    Cool article.

Makes me wish I had tried feeding my carpets some chicken eggs when I had them ;)

Yep, very cool! I'm still impressed by the family that found the snake and the vets that treated it. There are so many negative snake stories in the news between dangerous pet-eating Ball pythons  and rattlesnake roundups that it is very refreshing to read about people that care about these animals.

    That is an excellent story.

Any chance the snake could actually pass the balls?

I dont think so... only because on the BBC they said the vets went ahead with the surgery because they didn't believe he would be able too, but who really knows.
If he had not seen a vet and was still in the wild I bet he would have managed somehow but he would either be very sick or very sore in the rear! LOL
