    Chinese or Taiwan Beauty?
I had this guy since Dec. 1st, I bought him at the Hamburg show. I had alot of troubles with him, I don't want to get into that but he is fine now.. :)
Any way he was sold to me as a Taiwan beauty but when I looked at Chinese beauties they looked more similar.. I have no idea, now. I read somewhere that Taiwan beauties have red tounges and all other kinds have blue/black. Mine has a bluish tounge... Any way here are some pictures...:

Note the scales on his nose, what happened was he has stuck shed on there and it clogged his nose up causing him to breathe throught his mouth... that was what happened but I took the left overs when he shed...
I will update with newer, better pictures soon. And I guess I will also use it as a progression thread.
    Thanks.

The only info I could find was that on the Chinese (taeniura) beauty the dorsal pattern (looking from directly above) is ladder-like.
Whereas on the Taiwan (friesi), the dorsal pattern is 2 rows of strong blotches, which gradually become ladderlike.

    Hope this helps.

Looks like a Taiwan Beauty to me :). Chinese Beauties have more of a reduced ladder pattern, as previously stated.

Here's a picture of my Albino Chinese Beauty.

As you can see, their patterns are almost pinstriped.

Very nice animal, by the way! I love beauty snakes :D.

Not sure on the tongues, I know my VBBs have blue-purple tongues but that's no help to you... hmm...

That's a tough call, I tend to agree that it looks like a Taiwan but I'm not real familiar with Chinese beauties.

Well my Albino Chinese Beauty has a red tongue, but that might have something to do with him being an albino. :)

If I'm not mistake, normal Chinese Beauties have red tongues too.

It looks like a Taiwan. My Taiwans have a dark colored tongue.
Here is a picture of one of them.
