    Rubber mouse?
My parents gave my snake a christmas present: a rubber black mouse. I guess they thought it was funny. The mouse is about the size of the mice I feed my snake, Buddy. Well anyway, I thought that since the rubber mouse doesn't give off heat, Buddy wouldn't think it is food and eat it. So I placed it in his tank on the opposite hide's top. Today, I tried feeding him and he refused, then I removed his hide and whoala, that rubber mouse is under him and his tail is holding it tightly. It doesn't seem like he tried to eat it or anything since it looks clean of regurge. What can I make of this?

Not to feed it. Just for looks.

I agree. However it sounds like it would make a cute photo prop. Grab your camera or a friends and snap away of your snakie and his new rubber friend. Just don't leave it in it's cage.

it was nice of your parents to think of your snake, but keeping the rubber mouse inside the cage is probably not the best idea. maybe you could keep it right outside of the cage or something. same idea, just slightly different location. :)

My kids put little mouse stickers on the outside of our snakes' tanks.

I'm glad you found the snake with it before she went any further. Did you get any pictures? How did she react when you took it away?

Yes, I second those that said to put it outside as a prop.

I picked him up and he had his tail around the mouse but after few seconds he dropped it. He went berserk on me for few minutes haha. My parents were in shock when they saw the rubber mouse under him. I did get few pics but not very good ones.

Well, anyway, the snake wouldn't actually try and eat it would he? I mean it doesn't give off heat or smell like food.

That is quite funny. Good that it was found in time though!
