Humidity probs-setup ?

Heres my setup but the humidity is still too low my snake has scaly head..any suggestions would be great ..thanks

A quick one... Foil needs to be like sealed down... gaps = space for humidity to escape. I used plexi glass instead of foil and got an instant 5-7% increase in humidity. You could switch to a tub, mist your aspen, bigger water bowl.

My tank looks just like yours does and we are having the same problem! I only put one sheet of foil but me and you might need to use like 10, and even some cardboard between the sheets or styrofoam or something to fill it in with...
Kinda like doing insulation in a wall. Its needs to be air tight but you still need some air circulation as well... Kinda contardicting but u know what I mean!

U can also build a humid hide with a ice cream container (upside down with a hole cut into it) and some damp paper towl and put it on the warm side. Don't put too much water in the humid hide because we dont want scale rot but that might help with sheds! (There is also a special moss you can use instead of ppr towel. Not sure what it's called)
Also u can dampin a pillow case and let him slip and slide inside and in 20 minutes or more you should have a nice clean snake. Don't let him get cold though!

But I've also noticed on my BP that sometimes he has weird scales on his head too... Like they have a different shine to them or something is off about them. Kind looks like a bad shed but it might not be.

But, yea, the foil should be taped down on top with foil tape.It will help immensly. and perhaps just misting twice a day to keep the humidity level.

Misting is a great idea! I have an automactic mister right now and I need to make it go off like every hour for 15 seconds and I still only hit 40% on a good day. If I did it anymore he would be in a swimming pool!
So yeah what I was trying to get at is misting twice a day is one of the best ways to get it up, but get that tin foil on and maybe you won't have to mist all the time. Maybe just once a day!
But it needs to be at least 50% I'd say!

Josh recommended a larger water bowl which is a good idea I just wanted to make sure you get a water dish with a larger diameter as opposed to just a deeper one. A deeper bowl won't increase your humidity but a larger diameter will since the water will have more surface area to evaporate from.

i had the same problem with my snake during her shed get a bigger water bowl that will help alot right there

ok great ..thanks Ill try those suggestions and see if it helps..sorry for the big picture I took it with 1 mexapixel..thought it would be smaller..would putting a damp towel over top help..I do that for my corn snakes and they have no problems shedding.

I see you have tons of posts, but I don't recognize the name, sorry. Just be careful of scale rot. Too wet of a substrate constantly, will cause it. Does the substrate dry out in time for the next misting cycle to come around?

P.S. That is one biiiiiig picture, lol. If you open your picture is Microsoft Paint and go to Edit > Select All, then to Image > Stretch/Skew, you can change the vertical and horizontal dimensions of the picture, make it bigger or smaller. The either save it as a new file or over the large image.

yeah sorry i think this is better in size..heres the new setup hope this works..i mist 2 x a day..maybe should only mist 1x..how would i know scale rot?? thanks for all the advise..im here every few days .hope to get to know the regulars better ..
