Re: iPod Touch, I need help!
I got out of MACs after being dingled around like that too often. It was right around the time of G3 making the scene. I bought an Original G3 with scuzzy ports, and then they released the second gen G3s with the first gen of USB. What a waste. And the thing cost me an arm and a leg! I bought it because I was young and naive and my graphic design teacher raved that MACs were "industry standard" for that crap. Blah. (That is the brief version of one story of many, but I don't want to hijack the thread.)

When I bought my first pre-fab PC from one of those chain computer outlets I'd occasionally have issues with it, but since building my own from scratch I've never had a single problem in over 3 years. Not even a random crash. :gj:
I guess the adage is true; if you want something done right...
But as for the iPod Touch (which is why I clicked on this message thread to begin with) - I bought my sister a 16g model for xMas and it started showing dead pixels 8 hours out of the box. I'm über ticked. I tried exchanging it yesterday, but the MAC store said they won't be accepting exchanges until the 29th, and on top of that they are sold out and have no idea when new stock is coming in. I've read that this has happened to a lot of people. How can they sell a $450 toy that breaks 8 hours out of the box? Gah!!!
As for being told that you have no choice but to spend another $150 on a new OS to use this thing... that is just sick. I mean, its flippin' criminal. Its... MAC. ;-) (Sorry, could not help it.)
