she was being held by my wife the whole time. she was actually scared and tryin to run into the bedroom the whole time. id never put my bp in a situation to get hurt. the cat would of been gone b4 it could make a move for her

As a tangent, those flea collars on cats don't work at all.
Frontline, Revolution, and Advantage are the best flea controls on the market for cats. Steer clear of anything you can buy at Wal-Mart or the grocery store, not only do they not work well, they can actually kill cats.

Also to add to Slart's post, yes, flea colars dont work, they can also be toxic to the cat or anything that it comes into contact with. It creates a zone around the head and neck, leaving the rest almost to fully unprotected. I've had the best luck with Zodiac or advatage. Stear clear from heartz (check out Hartzvictems.org) and hot spot, they kill.

Do not use Zodiac. It's just a different brand of pyrethrins like Hartz. I've seen cats die on it just as readily as on Hartz or Biospot.
Advantage, Frontline, and Revolution are the only topicals that are safe for cats.
