yeah, i've heard about places where a white substance falls from the sky when it's cold...
Re: Are you a field herper?
I love looking for herps around here. We find all sorts of salamanders and newts; frogs, and a few types of snakes.
But there's not much to be done in the winter! Granted, there are some BPs and a boa living in our house.. :)
Re: Are you a field herper?
I would not exactly call myself a field herper. I don't go looking for critters as I normally don't have time to really look but if I see one I normally snag a pic of it and leave it be. Then I try and identify it later on the computer.:snake:
Re: Are you a field herper?
My mom keeps asking why we haven't cleaned up the junk and wood piles outside. Waitin' for spring! Once we "herp" through our piles, we can trash the stuff.
My husband and I are new to "field herping," but hope to become somewhat avid searchers. We live on 8 acres with woods and close to the Appalachian Trail (driving distance).
I have already posted a black rat snake and an eastern garter in this sub-forum, both visitors of our yard. I'll post more in approximately 3-4 months!
