My Ugly!

So I have talked with a few people on here about a lil rat guy that was a runt, had an umbilical hernia, and weighed...as still does....less than half of what his sibs.

Anyway...he really has my heart! I gotta tell you. I really fought to keep this lil guy. The umbilical hernia was pretty big for such a small fella. I kept him in with Mom for 2 extra weeks so he can nurse a lil longer...All the meant time Jeff is telling me to feed him off. But I wouldn't. I kept his bedding clean and one day I noticed the hernia had ruptured a lil. So I kept his bedding clean/fesh food/fresh water at all times. It scabbed up and healed pretty quickly. :)

I thought I would fnally share with you all the rat that will be my pet/rat buddy. Meaning I will put him in with another male to be a buddy to. ;)

Here he is and btw...His name is ugly.

He's so ugly that he's kinda cute! lol!

Oh he is so ooogly he's cute LOL. He's a bit on the thin side hon, maybe his mamma's milk isn't doing it for him but I'm sure some extra treats will chub him up a bit now that he doesn't have the rest of his litter to push him away from the good stuff. I'm sure he'll have a lovely life with you and will make a great companion rat and a fine cage buddy for another male in your colony. :)

He is a lil thin. But really...he has always been like that. :confused: That is one of the reasons I left him in with Mom.

Today I moved him in with an older male who is very calm. and they are getting along very nicely. ;) Maybe now he will plump up a bit!

Awww... ugly is the new cute. :gj: He's adorable. I hope he manages to put on a bit of weight, and that the ruptured hernia heals well.

Why is it those little guys manage to sneak into our hearts? :aww:
