could ths Ball be het for something?
I got in a "normal" ball python with interesting markings. Except for a few small spots at the neck, it's entire back is black with exception to the last inch and a half of it's tail, which is striped. Could this be a het of some sort for black back or genetic stripe, or just an interesting looking normal?

the only way you would honestly be able to tell if a ball python is het for anything, is if you got this information from a respectable breeder, or proved the animal out by breeding its offspring back to the parent animal in question.

You generally *save a few cases* cannot tell if an animal is het just by looking.

Pictures would help. Your description however sounds like a blackback.
