    hi for those of you that replied to ma royal weight thread i thought id just let ya all know ma royal is now feeding on medium mice whill she wil lson be switched onto rat fluffs a sthey are more nutritios than mice but da same size :)

    Myth. Since we don't know the nutritional requirements of Ball Pythons, it's a moot point to say that one prey item is better than the other. Feed what is readily available to you(easy to get) and what the snake will eat. Some snakes have a preference and prefer mice over rats or the other way around. They grow equally well on either prey item. All 40+ of mine are on mice and they grow/breed/reproduce/etc quite well.

    Someone posted some nutritional info on mice and rats recently. I thought it was interesting that mice are considerably leaner than rats.

    Interesting, I may alternate between the two, last week he ate his first F/T small rat, the week prior was 2 mice, I think he would eat a goat if I could get it to stand in the cage long enough!!!:)
