Phhhht...I don't. LOL His money, his choice how to spend it. :P

I hope that kid learns something and I hope the Dad is taking more control over the situation than merely "punishing" the kid by getting rid of a treasured game. From the story though...sounds like a pretty decent parent. I wish 'em the best!

Good job for the dad (in selling the game as well as making 9000 off of it)!!

I think that the dad seems to be a pretty decent parent as well so I am sure that there is a bit more to the sons punishment than just selling off a christmas present that the son didn't even get yet.

I find it ironic that the father bought his son a game that features a soundtrack of iconic dead rockers, many of whom either died of drug ODs or came close to it, and then got angry when he found Jr smoking pot.

    Mixed messages much?

Either way, I'm glad he made a killing from the resale. I don't pity whoever bought it, because clearly they could afford it and if it is a gift for their kid, the kid must be spoiled beyond belief. Did any of you ever get a 9K gift from mom and dad?

My parents were so behind the times that they got me a regular Nintendo the Christmas everybody else was getting Super Nintendo. And the Christmas when everybody was getting Nintendo 64, I got a Super Nintendo.

Talk about child abuse. No matter how many emulators I download, the scars will never heal.

No I don't feel there are mixed messages at all here. We play guitar hero doesnt mean because we like the music and enjoy the game that we encourage bad behavior of others.

I applaud the father and yeh he gets a wonderful little
bonus out of it. I hope he takes a nice vacation with that cash and leaves JR home with a kiddie sitter:)
