What does your snake shed look like?
I was just curious to know what the normal shed looks like for a Ball Python? When I had my Corn Snakes their sheds were always full and left completely stretched out. Now that I've gotten into Ball Pythons I have only gotten full sheds (no shed left on the snake) but it's always been balled up with some times having poop inside with it. I haven't yet to see it stretched out. I figure it isn't anything to worry about as nothing is left on the snake, just thought it odd, specially after seeing another thread with someone posting a picture of a shed that was stretched out. I just figured my snakes like to stay in their hides while shedding (which is were I always find the shed) and just don't have the room to let the shed stretch out. Sorry I don't seem to find any of the photos I have taken of previous sheds as I know pictures help explain so much better, but any input would be appreciated.
Thanks!
April

Well, I usually get a big ball, but yesterday I was lucky.

Hope that helps
Re: What does your snake shed look like?
Most sheds seem to be in a ball although occasionally they are stretched out. As long as it is all off it does not matter.

Thanks, I figured it was ok. The boyfriend and I just was discussing it the other day and since his Ball Python just shed I thought I'd ask others.
Bright202: It was your pictures that I saw that got me wondering more. :) By the way gorgeous snake!
Thanks again! Nice knowing you can jump on a site like this and get so much great info.

Ok, now that I posted something about the sheds, what do I find this afternoon. A perfectly nice shed that was still moist and soft so I was able to stretch it out and get this.

This is what I normally get.

I think he must have just gotten done shedding. But he looks oh so pretty now. I didn't get a picture of him as he got fed right after we found the shed so I didn't want to disturb him. But for fun I'll post this picture of him when he was just a baby after I got him. I'm still thinking to changing his name to Tiger. lol I love their markings on their heads.

Re: What does your snake shed look like?
what a cutie!
It has been almost a full year and I have yet to get a stretched out shed. Always a ball. Sometimes a poo.
Nothing worth saving yet, that's for sure
