    building a cage
I am building a cage but realize that there is one flaw. I forgot to leave room for lamps in between the cages (pictures explain) and have to put the bulbs inside the tanks now my problem is what to do to keep the snakes from being burned on the bulbs?? does anyone make a wire mesh guard or something or should i just make one outta chicken wire? I can use flex watt but i have the zoomed rheostats and heat pads an things of this sort dont seem to work all that great with these. any input is welcome.

do you know if those where home made or purchased??? making them is no problem but if homedepot has then for a few bucks that would be preferable.

You could always go florescent, unless you wanted to use a CHE or something heat emitting. I just got done installing day and night florescent strips in my new RBI cage, and as long as the bulb has a cover they're great for inside cage lighting.

You could always can the lights and go with radient heat panels. They dont get too hot that theyll burn your snake and they do a good job of keepin temps up. You just mount them to the tops of the cages so its pretty simple... might be something to think about.
