Maybe you scared him again and he was telling you "back off" :P.:rofl:Other then that i see nothing wrong with him being himself ;)
Re: maybe somethings wrong?
hm, ok, hoping to see what other people say :)
i recently read something about someones bp crawing up their tank and dislocating a couple of bones in their spine or something, don't want that to happen.
Re: maybe somethings wrong?
Yeah i agree you probably just spooked him, or maybe he is coming up on a shed. I have noticed that most of mine get a lil grumpy around that time.

Okay you got this snake back in August if memory serves. When you say "hopper" I assume you mean a hopper mouse. It may be that the snake has grown and is now ready for two hoppers per week or 1 single mouse slightly bigger, say a young adult mouse once per week. Only you can judge if his/her growth has warrangted a move up but most likely it has.
All snakes hiss. They might not hiss everytime, they might not hiss hardly ever but every snake has the capacity to hiss. You may have startled the snake, it may have been sleeping or is going into shed or is hungry or is just....being a snake. I wouldn't be concerned particularily over the occasional hiss or even a strike, these are not domesticated pets.
As far as the climbing does he/she do this all the time or just occasionally in the evening hours? If you are sure you are providing the right temps on both sides, have secure hides and the snake is not constantly being disturbed then it's likely just being a snake. If it's constantly roaming and searching when it should normally be sleeping during the daylight hours, then you likely have a problem with your enclosure and need to attend to that.
Re: maybe somethings wrong?
Yeah, he hasn't shed yet. Do they only grow when they shed?
In the morning-afternoon I'm mostly at school, when I come home hes usually inside, but like right now hes up on the walls of the tank looks like hes trying to get out, I took him out twice now and is constantly moving. Maybe he just wants to slither around? I'm not sure. Right now its 84ºF in there, the lamp is on, one side is warm, the other side is cool. Water is fresh.
Re: maybe somethings wrong?
How warm is warm? How cool is cool? is 84 the ambient temp or the warm side? Also, make sure you have the back and Both sides of the tank covered to help him feel secure. He may be trying to get out if he feels exposed in his home...

He hasn't shed yet as in lately or never since you got him back in August?
Re: maybe somethings wrong?
Since I got him he hasn't shed.
And 84ºF on the warm side, where the pad is.
Re: maybe somethings wrong?
Hmm, WAY too cool for the warm side. It should be at least 90 there and 83 on the cool side. Make sure you get a t-stat to control your pad, (and that it's not a human style heat pad) and digital thermometer to accurately measure the temps.
