Any suggestions?

Well i am just curious if anyone out here as any advice, my issue is with my male YB. So i got him about a month and a half ago and since the day i recieved him he has been super cranky! He eats well, does his business and has shed once. Since i know that you will all ask his temps. and humidity are all good. I have 4 others living in the exact same conditions. So i was wondering if there is a way to calm him down, or am i just out of luck now and stuck with a grump? Any advice would be great!:confused:

Me personally, I think that much like in humans, animals have different personalities. Chances are you just have a pissy snake :D Just my .02 I'd try to handle him as much as possible without stressing him too much, who knows he could come around.

Nothing wrong with a young aggressive male! They are my best breeders...:gj:

Yeah i have to agree with that one! He already thinks my hand is a chew toy, would like to make it better not worse!

personally handle it more than your other snakes and dont more real slow when you pick it up just reach in. sometimes if you reach in slowly they think your just food.

Wrong fast movements will get you bit also ;).I advise getting a glove to handle this snake until he chills out :D

Try to minimise the stress by turning down the lights a bit, if you can block its strikes with the palm of your hand so that it bounces off rather anywhere it can get a bite of. After a while it should calm down.

Being cooler will decrease its metabolism and make it strike more slowly if you let it cool for a bit before handling (18-20 deg for a short time shouldn't harm it, but be careful constant temperature changes will increase the chance of illness and stress, remember to turn the heater back on after handling) that will allow you to handle it for slightly longer before it warms up and it will hopefully become used to you.
