    feeding problem
I recently tried to switch my bp to eating out of it's tank instead of in it, because it would get the aspen stuck in its mouth. but I can't get it to eat outside of the tank, and I've tried almost everyday for a week, but she just wont eat. does anyone know what I should do?

i'm having problems with my bp eating as well, but from what I have learned, I would suggest not introducing food to him/her every day. Wait at least 5-7 days before you try again. The more often you introduced food and they don't take it, the more stressed out they could become IMHO.

You could try laying a paper towel down. Also make sure that your prey item is dry, so that less aspen sticks to it.

I'm not a big fan of feeding out of the tank, as several of mine just will not take it that way. A bit of aspen here or there shouldn't be a problem considering they can digest bone and teeth. If you continue to have problems though you could consider switching to newspaper substrate as well.

How's your temperatures? With colder temperatures our way. The change could be a cause.

And not to cause any trouble. It is only my opinion. But I wouldn't want my animals ingesting ANY kind of substrate. Which is why I use newspaper. And feed in the tubs.

Try switching to newspaper if it doesn't bother you. And like said above; wait until the next feeding day to attempt to feed again.

Again this is just my opinion. Hope it helps :)
