    Pastel pair will not eat.
Hey everyone. I have a pair of pastels I just got about a month ago, and well neither of them are eating F/T. I was told the female will take live or F/T but getting the right size meal (rats) is just hard to find live. My male is scared of the rats as well. I have them both in my rack, with a small hide, but even if I leave the rat in, they wont take it. I have honestly tried everything. Any suggestions?

BTW its been about 4 weeks since they ate. Maybe 3 weeks for my male.

Hm. I started my '07s on live hopper mice. I used rats too (pinks and just-barely fuzzies.)
It seemed like the motion of the live prey goot them interested for their first few feedings. Once they knew the drill of eating, most of them would assume the S position and strike before the hopper mouse, or rat pink, hit the floor!

So your saying I should try live rats or mice?

Your odds of getting refusals are higher with frozen then live. I would alternate live rat pups and small mice and see which one they go for. I only do live with hatchling/small BPs and they always eat for me. Hope it works out:snake:

Okay, well rat pups are not available for me at this moment, not sure when I will be able to find some. They still won't eat. Think I should wait another week?
