    Fire markers? Pics please. :-)
I've been looking at pictures of fires a lot lately, and I'm just not picking up on whatever it is that distinguishes them from a bright normal.

I understand that the difference are subtle, but obviously they are present or you wouldn't be able to tell them from normal clutchmates.

So for those of you that have seen them, what are the differences from a normal?

And if you have any pictures of fires, please share. :-)

    Fire Pics
Here's a few pics of our '07 male we recently picked up from Brad Armitage @ Picasso Reptiles. My photography skills and equipment are average at best. He is MUCH better looking in person  (in snake?).

As for markers, every marker I've heard of for Fires can be found in some shape, form or fashion on a good many of the "normals" we have have in our collection and they aren't Fires as far as I know.

The best thing to do is purchase from a reputable breeder who you can trust. When you start producing your own Fires, you won't have any trouble picking out the Fires when compared to their normal siblings, especially after a few sheds.

I have heard they get brighter with every shed and so far ours has proven that to be an accurate statement. Placed beside our lightest and brightest normal, he is obviously different. He just has a glow that they don't. Hope this helps you a little.

I'm local to Brad Armitage and went by his place a few months ago to pick up a snake. He let me look at his Fire's in person and I was very impressed. I too could never tell from pictures what the big deal was, but after seeing them in person....they definately stand out. They basically look like a hypo but without that "I look like I'm going into shed" dullness. Hope that helped.

Evidently it's to remain hush hush. :) This would be a great new page for the Hunters Guide....

So, here is a question. Not going to say whether this is a Fire from a proven line, unproven line or an unknown critter. It's a male BP sitting on top of a travel tote. In your educated opinion is this animal a Fire?

Seems light, has a head marker but doesn't quite look like a clover leaf to me.

I'd say not a fire-the background color isn't quite the right shade, nor is the head-at least compared to my pair (also from Brad Armitadge).

Well, I left after posting this, I loathe dial up, dear god I miss my wireless internet :( Anyway, the photo is a truly terrible one. He's about three shades lighter in person.
