I went to Petco to see if they had the water conditioner for the retf and of course they didnt have it but i thought i would stroll over to the clearance anyway.. might as well not waste a trip, so they had meduim under the tank heaters on the rack for $3 each (omg $3 each?!) so of course i picked up the two they had left.. I get them home and one blows out my circuit the moment i plug it in, frying the wall socket and UTH (Real nice :rolleyes:) well the other one works great...so i suppose one for $6 marked down from $18 aint bad right?

also i picked up two frozen adult mice for Cameron (See if she woudl take them, so much easier to do that way then keep a few at a time live) and i thawed it out and hot dog it stinks!!! very disatisfied with that :colbert: and i only saved $0.40 on frozen then getting live and i dont know that cameron will eat it or not cause shes only been offered live.

they had a couple cresteds in their display, one animal has been there FOREVER, at least 6mos if not more, the other one almost as long.. marked at $49.99 so I asked to see it (i love cresties, and mine are still small babies, this one was BIG) so i pull it out and its tail is so deformed it wasnt funny.. otherwise it looked healthy over all. I asked what they were willing to let it go considering not only how long it had been there but also its deformed tail and they said $24.99, considering the "Deal" I almost did it until I remembered that thread lately about how buying an animal that im "Rescuing" is doing the petstore a favor because they are able to sell it and get more in.. so i had to walk away, as difficult as it was, i put the male back and told the salesman, im sorry but i try not to purchase from you in the first place, i had no buisness asking for an animal from you. Thank you and i hope you have a wonderful day... by the way you might want to consider changing its moldy food and giving them a bigger hide...

good deal on the one UTH....as far as buying from Petco that thread was right on the mney, were not rescuing the animals were fueling the corporate monster that is petco. But if you could've "rescued" the Gecko for such a good price, i think everyone would understand :) Believe me if i go in there and there's a nice little Ball for like $10 best beleive hes coming to the house :taz:
