    Flexwatt placement and Thermostats
    Hey all-

Quick question to all of you who have racks. With your flexwatt, do you just have one sheet of it on the warm side? Or do you use one for the warm side and one for the cool side?

Does that then mean you have two thermostats, one to control the warm side and then one to control the cool side?

Finally what if I have a rack that will hold 6 tubs and have flexwatt sheets one each side of the tub (one for cool, one for warm), will a thermostat be able to hold all of the plugs?

typically those who have racks have it on the warm side, and keep their snake rooms warm enough so they dont need some on the cool side

I am iffy about leaving those types of heaters running, so I can have two sheets of flexwatt on each tub level, one for the cool side and the other for the warm. Thanks for your help.

Yes, you can heat both sides of your tubs with flexwatt. You wouldn't need 2 thermostats, either. if you have proportional thermostat you can use a rheostat (dimmer) to cool down whichever side is too hot once you've got everything wired up.

And yes, enough flexwatt for 6 tubs, hot and cold side, SHOULD be ok for any thermostat on the market currently.

    Thanks Jim!

Any thermostat in particular you perfer? Also, since I am not much of a builder or an electriction, is there a way to set up all the cool side felxwatts into 1 rheostat/dimmer? Do you just wire them all together?

I'm a fan of Helix but I've heard good things from Herpstat users as well. You can use a power strip to get all the cool side heat elements onto one dimmer or you can wire them together, whatever is most comfortable for you.
