Looking for inside information

Yesterday at the Wheaton show I was talking to Ron Billingsley, and I mentioned that if he had any normal females that looked as good as the $30 males I would buy a couple, but I had no need for a normal male. He hinted that the males were hets, but refused to say more than that. He was selling them for someone who apparently wanted to dump his het males to the pet trade as normals. He said he couldn't tell me more, or he would be able to charge a lot more, and that wasn't what he was told to do with them. So I bought one of the males, and I am going to try to breed him to my extra female later in the season, then hold back any daughters to breed back to him. Does anyone know what I have? He had some nice 100% orange ghost hets for $50, and I got the impression that these would sell for quite a bit more than those if he was selling them as hets instead of normals. I understand him not telling more, but I have it and I have plans to breed it to a normal, so now I want to know. It probably shouldn't be public, so if anyone has an idea, maybe PM me.

Ron has always told us that he sells any 66% hets as normals. He only deals in 100%, everything else he produces gets the "normal" tag regardles...

I know Ron well and this is very true...as for what you have Ron does a lot with Het Albinos and Het Axanthics (and recently Het Reds)...so either is possible (if he produced it). Ron also imports a TON of animals (and buys to resell from other breeders) so who knows for sure what you might have.

He didn't breed them. He was unloading them for someone else, but he assured me they weren't het albinos. I don't know how much I can say without stepping on toes or being unethical here.
Have you seen his CH line of YBs? They are smokin'. He told me he hatched some het red axanthics from WC females, but he didn't have any at the show. I'm also interested to find out more about his new project he's raising up.

Wow, that girl is crazy looking. I hope it proves out for him. That would add a lot to any morph, and if it's a co-dom the super will probably be something sick.
