Having a Cat 4 land 25 minutes north of me was probably the scariest thing ever. Walking outside after Charlie was pretty shocking. It looked like we had been bombed. I remember walking through my neighborhood seeing trees through houses, trees blocking roads. We even had a huge branch crush most of our lanai and land in our pool.

We had no power or water for a week. Worst week of my life in South FL with no A/C in the summer and only 15 year old board games to entertain us. Living under Marshall Law is not fun.

With that said I am glad we had little to no hurricanes this year and I am glad.

2004 was definately not fun, nothing like being stuck at the fire station for 6 days straight and not being allowed to go home and check on your house. I am thankful every year no major storms hit.

ive been in the same city since Andrew 10yrs ago, Andrew came within miles of us... hurricanes are not fun, although they do stir things up a bit. we have been hit HARD a few times and over all aside from some property damage we have been very fortunate
