    BP acting strange...need advice
    Alright,
I just got a baby ball python about 3 weeks ago and he has been taking meals and doing all that stuff fine but the past few days I've noticed that he never comes out of his hid at night. When I first got him and up until this past friday he would come out around 1030 pm climb around for an hour or so and then go back in his hide. Now he never comes out. Im concerned that it might have to do with temp or humidity. Experts out there, let me know what you think.

Ball pythons like hides. Ball pythons like hiding. Ball pythons would be so freakin happy if they never had to do anything but eat, hide and poop.

I have heard that when they first get in the new enclosure, they are exploring it and trying to get out. Eventually they give up.

He might be getting ready to shed. My bp did the same thing and then about a week later he shed. Now everytime he gets real inactive, I keep an eye on his eyes and sure enough they dull over and he sheds about 2 or 3 days after

My thoughts exactly. I usually notice a dinstint decrease in activity around that time. You'll probably being noticing a pink belly and and cloudy eyes in a couple days. I would still double check husbandry, just in case, but most likely your fine. ;)

I have only had mine a month, she just shed and she rarely ever came out of her hide that week. She finished yesterday and she still isn't very active yet.

Alright thanks for the advice. Should I mist the cage every once and awhile to help with the shedding? Or give im a soak in some warm water?

Check the humidity levels, and keep it about 70%. (misting may be needed)

Don't soak until after 24 hours, and only if they haven't gotten it off theirself.
