i brought home my bp today
i got my bp today and i have some questions about their usuall behavior in a new place.i would have though he would go hide right away but hes just trying to escape through the top is this normal?also he usually eats tomorrow and i was wondering if i should offer her food tomorrow? thanks
Re: i brought home my bp today
It's normal for them to explore a new enclosure initially. If he's still doing this in a couple of days, then I would start with the basics - make sure your enclosure is small enough, that the hides are tight (he can just barely squeeze himself in them), that you're measuring temps with a digital thermometer at ground level for most accurate readings, and that you are providing a proper temp gradian (80-84 on the cool side, 90-94 on the warm side - no night drops).
I would not feed him tomorrow. One week without food will not hurt him in the least. Give him a full week to acclimate to his new home (that means no holding him either during that week - you'll have 30 years ahead of you to hold him).
Congrats on your new pet!
