anyone collect morphs strictly as pets???

hey, just wondering does any one here collect morph strictly for pets or do most of you breed them???

p.s. i was thinking of getting into breeding some day, im 14 and make 100$ a week, how wuld i go about this??

they are our pets. we breed them too. thats part of pethood. haha

Not to sure i started just wanting a pastel for just a pet and then once i found all the other great morphs out there i had to get some more. So i figured since i liked them so much and some of the super cool morphs are out of my price range for a snake, i figured i would give breeding them a shot to get what i really want.

If this is something you really want to do, do tons of research on ball pythons. Understand there needs and what it will actually take to get them to breed, also remember that they live a long time if kept properly so be prepared. If you do decide to do it, you can start out with some of the lower priced morphs to get you going, pastels, spiders, cool looking normals. You will be able to get lower prices on hatchlings than say yearlings for the most part so it will take a couple of years of raising them before they are ready to breed. Find a good breeder to purchase from, stay away from pet stores! Also you can use forms to ask questions and get advice! Good luck!

That's my feelings also :)

I know of a couple people that have spiders for nonbreeding pets:)

They aren't BPs, but I own two corn snake morphs and they are my pets first and foremost. The same would go if I could afford a BP morph. Of course, if the opportunity came up to breed my corn boys, I would take it...it's just not the reason I own them :)

I may breed in the future, I don't know.
I bought my spider and my pastel as pets. I don't mind paying morph price when I intend to have them the rest of my life most likely. Most of my pets I plan on keeping for life. I find the morphs so pleasing to look at. A real pleasure to own.:)

I want a spider.. I really appreciate its pattern, long term i hope to breed her (will get her in 4-08) im also concidering getting a male pastel at the same time and hopefully make some bees, but for me.. i have always loved the look of the spider first and foremost.

The guy I get my rodents from told me of a guy who buys morphs strictly as pets. HIGH END morphs, such as albino spiders and other stuff.
