How can i make the tank more humid??
well, i just bought my snake, not knowing much about them all i have right now is a night time red light, and a stick on thermometer, i know i need a thermostat!

what are ways that i can humidify the tank, it seems very dry.

And will this heat lamp hold up or do i need a different or additional heat source?? thanks guys

I got rid of my heat lamp...sucks out too much humidity.

I just use a UTH, put the water dish over it, and a little aluminum foil on one half of the top of the cage cover

UTH's are fairly cheap and should be used with a thermostat or a dimmer to control the temperature.

I don't think the heat lamp is a bad thing, but you will have to address the humidity issue eventually.

Maybe someone with more experience that uses heat lamps can offer you better advice.

I would say sure as long as you can maintain the proper temp/humidity levels

    80-84 F w/ basking 88-94 F
    HUMIDITY: 50%-60%

You can use it, but it's not recommended. Snakes gather heat from below, not above like lizards who need lamps.

The best heat source is a UTH controlled by a t-stat or at least a dimmer. A lamp can be used after that for temp boosts and viewing, but you don't want or need a high watt bulb. Also, the blue moonlight bulbs are better than the red for night as a general consensus.

I use a green light, no one ever said anything about it being a bad choice.

By all means I am still a newbie here but just some advice from my tank fixing with humidity. I am using eco-earth for substrate and that has fixed alot of my issues from using aspen. I would recommend it majorly. Still do whatever everyone is sayign of course but that may help MAJORLY. Just thought I would put in my two cents. Please if anyone has better pllease add onto or correct :)

When I first got my BP I had a heat lamp and I had to mist like 3-4 times a day to keep the humidity somewhat regular. You should really invest in a thermostat and UTH. It will make your life sooooo much easier, not to mention your BP will thank you!

P.S. Be sure not to spray a bunch of water on the hot bulb....I did that once and the bulb exploded....I feel dumb for doing it, but thats why I bought a thermostat and flexwatt....
