    rack building
Has anyone made any racks w/ xpvc rather than melamine?. I'm planning on making a rack system this winter instead of buying another rack. If you have let me know how it is to work with.

I did. I made one out of all xpvc, but didn't like it. So I made a hybrid of wood/xpvc. The xpvc was very easy to work with. Easy to cut and drill.

I also made instructions for my rack; it's a step by step pdf on how to make it: http://www.blueappleherps.com/page13/page14/page14.html

I got it from a local plastics distrubutor. I figured out all the sizes of pieces that I needed and got out the yellow book and called around to get quotes. I got enough to build 3 racks like these for ~$250 all cut to size - 24 pieces total.
