    Question for woody pet users...
How deep of a layer do you use in your tubs. Right now I use pine and 1 bale fills about 14 of my tubs (HD cement mixing tubs). I can get the 40# bag of woody pet for the same price as what I pay for the pine, but I am wondering if the woody pet will fill as many tubs?

You just need a single layer...any more and it is just wasted. I have 24 tubs (large cement mixing tubs) and it takes me 60lbs (1.5 bags) to do all of these. (2 cat litter scoops per tub)

    Hope this helps.

Sounds good, I'll give it a try. Does it make it a whole week before the smell starts getting really bad? My rats are in the garage and there is very little air flow in the room so the smell usually starts getting pretty bad around day 3-4 with the pine I have been using.

I have my mice, which smell worse than rats, in my living room and can't smell them on the woody pet. I put maybe 1/4" deep in their tubs and change them weekly.

We had a leaky spout the other day, it looked like the rats had tried terraforming in their tub lol. Those pellets BLOW UP! Haha, good stuff :gj:

LOL Connie, I had one chew thru an almost full water bottle and it looks like someone poured a whole bucket full of sawdust.
As for the question, I use just enough to cover the bottom and then have a thin layer of carefresh on top of that.

Heck ya, I tried to use just enough to cover the bottom after Sean said that's all he used (no overlapping pellets), it just didnt seem like enough. But now I really know why, dang thats alot of wood! ;)

It is so true...when I clean out the tubs I can fill a 55 gal rolling drum trash can with waste (all this from just a bag and a half of pellets)
