    bed a beast/sand mix?
    Is it ok to use a 50/50 mix of bed a beast and sand as substrate?:snake:

    No, sand is not an appropriate substrate for Ball Pythons or any snake really(even sand boas). It will get stuck in between their scales, heat pits and nostrils, and can cause irritation and possible infection. It's also not easy at all to keep clean. Just stick with plain coconut fibers or go to cypress/aspen/newspaper.

    I kinda figured as much. I have a tortoise that requires 50/50 mix of bed a beast and sand, just thought I could kill 2 birds with one stone. Its alright, Im trying out the newspaper idea. Thanks for the answers..
